Frequently Asked Questions:
How do your classes differ from those at my hospital?
Our classes are comprehensive, hands-on, communication and activity-based. They include a helpful and easy-to-implement workbook. Hospital-based classes are larger and typically lecture-style, shorter, non-interactive and not as comprehensive. Our in-person classes are smaller (typically 7-8 couples) which allows for more conversation and activities.
Is the class fee for both me and my partner?
YES! The fee for our classes covers the cost of two attendees: you and a support person of your choice.
Are these classes offered in languages other than English?
All of our virtual classes are offered in both Spanish and English. Click here to learn more about our Spanish classes.
Where are your in-person classes offered?
Our in-person classes are located at various locations throughout the city, and in some of the suburbs. Please check out the individual class that you’re interested in to see the location.
How do I know what classes to take?
Most of our birthing classes are geared for medicated or unmedicated births. The focus is informed decision-making and communication with your partner and healthcare provider. We strongly believe that your options can help you have an improved birth outcome.
What if I can't attend the in-person class I chose?
We always aim to find a solution for your family, whether that’s moving you to another class date, or sharing our virtual self-paced class with you.
Do you offer a discount on birth doula support if you sign up for classes?
Yes, our birth doula clients have the option to purchase our birth doula & class package and save 45% on virtual classes and 50% on in-person classes. Click here to connect with us about doula support and our class packages.
Should I take a breastfeeding class?
We highly recommend taking a breastfeeding class if you plan on breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is a learned behavior. Our breastfeeding class comes with a very helpful workbook and is more comprehensive than most hospital-based classes.
