We know it can be hard and frustrating to test out different breastfeeding products (and a lot of money) On the one hand it’s great there are so many products, because everyones families, babies and breasts are so different. This means someone used product that didn’t work for them and came up with one that fit their needs. Yay for innovation! One the other had this means you may have to go through a lot to figure out what works for your family. But to help you, we had a our Postpartum Doulas share their favorite products for breastfeeding! These are products that work for many of our families.
Hakkaa Silicone Breast Pump
It’s super easy to use and a great way to easily build up stores without actually having to pump. It just gathers the excess milk while you are already feeding anyway!
Boon Grass Mat
We love the Boon Grass mat and accessories for drying pump parts, the little flower is great for holding all the little pieces and it is only used for breastfeeding supplies so it’s extra sanitary.
MotherLove nipple cream
The MotherLove nipple cream saved many Mama’s nipples, after their little ones destroyed them the first night of cluster feeding with an overly tight latch. The consistency goes on smoothly, smells good, feels good, and it does not have to be wiped off before feedings.
Sterilizing Bags Medela
We find the microwave sterilizing bags from Medela to be inexpensive, super quick, and easy to use! We prefer it over big sterilizers that take up counter space, take a long time to sterilize, and are expensive We know microwave use on baby products are not for everyone but, for people who are comfortable with it, it’s a great option!
My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow
We really love the My Brest Friend nursing pillow. It’s flat and firm, so much easier to position baby on, with less rolling, so mom’s can really get the baby snug up against them and the strap that buckles around the back is great too. It’s great for newborn nursing.
