Meet Abby J.
Abby (she/they) is a trained Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Counselor. She is continuing her education as a Full Spectrum Doula and Childbirth Educator with Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. Abby has supported various kinds of birth from C-Section to home births and understands the importance of each parent making informed individual choices for their birth. She is passionate to educate and empower other parents, especially new parents and LGBTQIA+ parents, in their pregnancy and birth experience.
Abby supports any choices a parent may make and wants to make sure parents are heard in their birthing space. She also understands how intimate and personal the birthing space is and strives to create an environment that is comfortable and unique to each birthing person and their partner.
Abby, like many, became a doula, following the birth of her first daughter, In hindsight, Abby realized how little she actually knew about birth and her options and she did not want others to feel this way. That’s when she found doula work. She fell in love with birthwork and jumped in head first in 2019 with International Doula Institute.
Abby is married, has two kiddos, and a sweet attention-hungry pup. In their free time, Abby likes to go thrifting, read books, and play board games (even though she rarely wins).
