Meet Amari

Amari is a CAPPA trained postpartum doula on our team. As a postpartum doula, she has experience in creating healthy and safe routines. She enjoys helping families implement sleeping strategies and schedules and helps families identify what is best for their baby and their family. She understands that each family and baby has unique needs. She enjoys consulting with children’s parents regarding their child’s daily behavior and development, maintaining accurate records of a child’s daily activities, recording times of feedings for health safety purposes, and maintaining a clean environment for children.

Amari has a B.S is in Human Development and Family Studies and a Minor in Child Health and Well Being. Prior to becoming a doula, she worked in the childcare field at the University of Illinois Child Development Laboratory in Urbana-Champaign, IL. Here she collaborated with educators and team members to deliver quality child care to children from 6 weeks to five years old. She has worked with infants in a 4 to 1 ratio and is comfortable in high stress situations that can often be accompanied with infant care. She has witnessed first hand how supporting families can help foster healthy development for infants and on through the formative years. 

Amari finds caring for children to be one of the most rewarding things in life. She has a passion for newborn, infant, childcare and family care and believes optimal care starts in the home with proper support for not only children, but also parents. 

Amari loves to cook, and cooks well. She is outgoing, motivated, and compassionate but most of all she is ready and willing to help support families in any way she can postpartum.
