Meet Carol

Chicago Family Doulas

Carol is a birth and postpartum doula on our team, she has been supporting families as a birth doula since 2016 and has been a Bradley affiliated childbirth instructor since 2001. Her  postpartum doula training is through CAPPA. She began teaching The Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth © classes after realizing that so many families go into childbirth feeling scared and unsure of themselves, and learning that many families had difficult or disappointing experiences. Childbirth is such a vulnerable and sacred time, that she became passionate about helping couples to feel fully prepared and fully supported.

Carol and her husband have 5 children who were all born about two years apart. Her children were born in a regular hospital labor & delivery room, a freestanding birth center, and at an in-hospital birth center room. Now she’s enjoying the teenage and young adult phase of parenting her own children; and she loves sharing her knowledge and experience with others just starting on this amazing journey!

Carol has been described as very calm and relational; she’s especially intuitive about what a couple needs during the birth process and in caring for newborns.  She enjoys meeting many different couples, caring for them according to their unique needs and individual circumstances, and supporting their own plans and hopes.

Carol has a degree in Elementary Education and has taught K-12th grade in differing school settings (including a year touring with Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus!) She enjoys teaching, learning, reading, and sharing life with her family, students, and clients!

Families love her depth of knowledge, her incredible level of experience, and her very kind demeanor.
