Meet Dana
Dana is a well loved CAPPA postpartum doula on our team who specializes in overnight care. She loves supporting families in these early days so they can gain confidence and get the rest they need to truly enjoy this precious time. Families describe Dana as kind, caring, knowledgeable, professional and dependable.
Dana is commited to providing evidence based care to families and is a life-long learner. She has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and her Masters degree in Early Childhood. Prior to her career as a postpartumm doula she has worked as a nanny, and has worked in professional daycare settings for over 12 years. Having a background in early education and childcare, she has a great respect for infants and children and highly values giving them optimal care and education. She is also passionate about caring for the entire family, and supporting them in their journey through parenthood.
Dana has seven years of experience working in infant classrooms, and has gained a lot of knowledge about their needs and care. She loves helping parents navigate the challenges of raising an infant. Dana can talk endlessly about how to best introduce table food or how to use sign language with your baby. She offers support and encouragement to the parents of her students, and they appreciate her knowledge and understanding.
Dana became a postpartum doula because she wants to support the family through one of the most crucial times in her life. She wants to help nurture families so they can get off to the best start. As the mother of a five-year-old, Dana has an appreciation for the struggles of parenthood and is sensitive to the needs and worries of a new parent. She has professional and personal knowledge to share and understands the need for that support.
Dana’s passion for learning motivates her to educate parents with all there is to know so they can make informed decisions about their baby. She understands that the information available is often overwhelming and confusing and she loves to help make it easier for parents to sift through their choices. In addition, Dana’s teaching and early childhood experience enables her to have a repertoire of knowledge regarding learning activities, discipline, and development of young children. She can offer fun and engaging experiences for older siblings, and offer them support through this major transition.
When Dana is not supporting families, she enjoys spending time outside with her family, cooking, and exercising when she can fit it in. She looks forward to meeting you and your growing family.
