Meet DeeDee M.
DeeDee is a CAPPA trained postpartum doula on our team as well as a newborn care specialist. She is very passionate about helping moms and babies particularly during the newborn stages. She knows this is the most crucial and important time for new parents and she loves being able to help facilitate the smooth transition into parenthood.
As a mother of four children (all by cesarean), her experience makes her have a deep appreciation for the assistance required to maneuver around the home. The task of sitting up, breastfeeding and merely getting up to go to the bathroom can be very challenging. The help and support she received during that time made her very grateful and made her want to help other new moms during these difficult times.
The most important aspect of her work is knowing that her clients get the required rest needed for recovery and not having to worry about leaving their newborn child/children with just anybody, but someone who is trustworthy and confident in what they’re doing. Families love how DeeDee is constant and reliable, which helps alleviate the anxiousness many new parents may have.
As a postpartum doula, Delonie is empathetic towards people from all walks and aspects of life. She has always adored babies, and her doula work has made her appreciate the village it takes to raise outstanding children in society. She loves supporting busy households, and also families with singletons. Families describe her as helpful, sweet, and very knowledgeable.

“We worked with Chicago Family Doulas for both birth and postpartum care. Anna was incredibly organized, kind, and helpful, and ensured that we were matched with an excellent labor and delivery doula as well as postpartum doulas. She also expertly coordinated scheduling for our postpartum doulas. Dee Dee and Becky were our postpartum doulas during the first few weeks of our son’s life. During that critical time, they helped us learn how to care for him and helped us get as much sleep as possible at night so we were well-rested during those stressful early days. Dee Dee taught us how to bathe him so that he was comfortable, and now he actually enjoys bath time! She showed us how to swaddle him effectively, the best way to warm a milk bottle, and lots more. Most importantly, both Dee Dee and Becky allowed us to sleep well since we knew our son was in good hands. We are very grateful for Dee Dee’s and Becky’s support during that time!”
