Meet Deshaunna W.

Deshaunna is a labor doula through Gifted Hands International as well as a trained CAPPA postpartum doula. Her own experience as a teenage mother, with limited support, inspired her to become a doula. Now, with experience and training, she strives to be a strong support and the advocate she lacked during her pregnancy.

Deshaunna is known for her genuine passion, and transparency, while ensuring families’ needs are met. Her experience as a home visitor has equipped her with the knowledge to support women during the prenatal stage and focus on child development during the postnatal period.

Families appreciate Deshaunna’s diligent work, genuine affection, and the useful resources she provides to help them achieve self-sufficiency and become confident parents. 

Deshaunna enjoys educating herself on maternal health and doula support, spending time outdoors, and exploring new restaurants and the city of Chicago with family and friends. She also loves cleaning and organizing.
