Meet Erika
Erika has always had a passion for all things pregnancy, birth baby and family. She began supporting families as a labor and postpartum doula in 2015 and in April of 2020 she completed a Birth Assistant Workshop. She is a life long learner and attends multiple workshops a year. She also has a passion for supporting underserved communities and volunteers her services.
As a labor doula, Erika has experience in home births, birth center births and hospital births. From Vaginal births,VBACS to C-sections. She has experience in Hypnobirthing, providing Comfort Measures and Rebozo techniques (Manteada.) She is looking to connect deeper with her ancestral healings and will soon offer more.
As a postpartum doula Erika is knowledgeable about nursing, healing, caring for a new baby, addindg a baby to a busy home, nutrition, cooking and so much more. She loves jumping in and supporting families exactly where they need. As a postpartum doula she has experience with multiples, daytime, overnights, and even traveled cross country to support clients.
She is very passionate about the work she does and she became a Doula to advocate for all birthing people. To provide them comfort and support in one of the most vulnerable times of their lives. This is what she was destined to do. This is not a job. This is her life. This truly is Heart Work for her.” She loves that she can connect and learn from families and respects and learns about all cultures, religions, and beliefs.
Erika is the mom of a very adventurous 4 year old. They spend as much time as possible outdoors. She is born and raised in Chicago and has a deep love for her Mexican Roots. Erika says most of her days are spent cooking for her family and friends as she has a serious love for Plant based and whole foods and much like her Abuelita, just making sure everyone is fed and happy. She loves to learn about nutrition and keeping her family healthy. Her family loves to travel and just want to raise their child to be the happiest little human ever! Raising children is hard work and no one should do it alone. That’s why she does this type of work.
