Meet Heather P.
Heather is a Doula Training International trained birth and postpartum doula on our team, and she has also trained with Go Milk Yourself. She is infant and child CPR certified and also has her manager’s food safety certification which is incredibly helpful for families wishing for food prep postpartum. As a postpartum doula, she loves helping parents transition as they grow their family. She has experience with daytime and overnights. As a birth doula she is knowledgeable about unmedicated vaginal delivery, planned cesareans, and VBACs.
Heather was drawn to doula work after serving as a gestational surrogate twice. Having a doula present for her second surrogacy made an incredible difference to the quality of care she received and helped her advocate for herself to have a successful VBAC. Having grown up with her mother working as a midwife specializing in home births Heather has always been fascinated by the magic of childbirth and the postpartum period.
As a gestational surrogate Heather got to experience what supporting a family transitioning into parenthood looked like first hand. She is proud to say that she continues to be a part of her surro-son’s lives as a beloved Auntie Heather.
During her free time Heather enjoys cooking and baking with her non-binary tween and seeing local live theatre.
