Meet Jackie E.
Jackie is a trauma-informed, DONA trained birth doula, CAPPA trained postpartum doula, as well as a Certified Lactation Specialist. She has been working with families since 2020, where she learned the true impact of doula work while serving south side birth families as a community doula for a large hospital system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jackie is a certified CRM® teacher with the Trauma Resource Institute; and infuses CRM® skills into her work to help clients cope with trauma and stressors that may emerge during varying phases of their pregnancy. Jackie specializes in teaching positive-proactive communication, self-advocacy skills, and guiding families in having the “hard conversations.”
Jackie continues to serve as a community doula/case manager/health educator for a federal Healthy Start program where she works with moms and babies to ensure they have a smooth transition into parenthood. Jackie says that serving her community is something that was instilled in her at a young age, and has become her life’s passion and purpose. In working with moms, she finds joy in the moments when birthing people realize that it is their body, their baby, and they have the right to have a fulfilling birth experience their way.
Families have described Jackie as being immensely supportive, nurturing, and intentionally inclusive of each member of the birthing person’s support team; and she has lovingly become an “honorary member” of many of her prior birth families.
As a postpartum doula, families describe Jackie as helpful, compassionate and willing to jump right in wherever needed. She enjoys supporting families with busy households, as well as with singletons.
In her free time, and in true millennial fashion, Jackie enjoys sharing funny social media content with friends, incorporating new online recipes into her weekly dinner rotation, and learning new TikTok dances with her teenage daughter.
