Meet Kendall L.

Kendall is a well loved and experienced labor and postpartum doula certified through Cornerstone Birthworks, she is also a Birth and Baby University Certified Postpartum Doula. As a doula she cultivates a compassionate and judgment-free atmosphere so each family can receive personalized and holistic care. She supports vaginal and Cesarean births and has worked in the hospital and birth center setting. She is experienced with supporting both medicated and unmedicated births. Families describe her as kind, compassionate, a natural caregiver, professional and knowledgeable.
As a postpartum doula, Kendall is a natural caretaker and has supported families for as long as she can remember. As a teen she was always trusted and provided childcare for her family and neighbors often. She knows welcoming a new member in the family is so special and she’s lucky to be able to ease the transition.
Kendall became a doula because of her deep passion for working with growing families during one of the most transformative and sensitive times in their lives. She believes everyone deserves to have their autonomy respected and uplifted at every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum regardless of their circumstances. She supports members of her community so they can approach their birth and recovery with confidence. It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to make a positive impact for those creating the next generation.
Kendall is also a public health graduate student focusing on maternal and child health. Her goal is to empower communities to advocate for solutions that meet their specific needs before, during, and after birth. Prior to pursuing her Master’s degree, Kendall worked as an administrator at Cook County Health and volunteered as a sex educator in Chicago Public Schools.
In her free time, she enjoys biking along the lake front, baking, and attending book clubs.

Kendall has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to maternal health, breastfeeding, and newborns. She is a good listener and can offer recommendations and resources on a spectrum of different topics. My 4 month old is a Velcro baby and quite fussy. Kendall is very patient and resourceful when it comes to soothing her. I know that even if my baby gets upset when I leave, she’ll figure out a way to her to calm down or reach out to me to see if I have any tricks up my sleeve. My mind is at ease knowing she’s at home with my daughter. She can complete tasks if you tell her what needs to be done (washing the bottles, filling waters, getting snacks, etc.) I think she would do great if you had a check list ready for her, so she can work from that, but her first priority is always soothing the baby or taking care of the mother vs. getting other chores done. She is very punctual, communicative, and passionate about working with babies and their families (and their fur babies if you have pets). Kendall is a great resource to have on your postpartum journey!

I highly recommend Chicago Family Doulas (CFD) to anyone considering postpartum support. We had an incredible experience with Kendall, who provided overnight care and made a huge difference for our family. Kendall cared for our newborn overnight during the first four weeks, offering expert guidance and much-needed rest. If you’re looking for compassionate, skilled, and trustworthy doulas during this special and delicate time, Chicago Family Doulas is the perfect choice!

“I had the most amazing experience with Chicago Family Doulas. From the very initial outreach until our very last day, every interaction was thoughtful, caring and highly professional. Anna and her team respond so quickly that I always felt like they were right there for me at any moment. We matched with Kendall and she was a delight. Our son was so well taken care of and it allowed us to get a little rest during the initial crazy days of having a newborn. We wouldn’t have made it through without her. Kendall was supportive of our choices and offered advice in certain areas as our little one grew and his needs evolved. Even on some of the tough nights, she got us right through them with a huge smile and grace.”
