Meet Krista

Evanston doula north shore

Krista is a dedicated and passionate DONA-trained birth doula who is committed to being respectful and inclusive to every birthing family she walks beside. She is equally comfortable providing support for home, birth center, and hospital births, believing that all families should have the opportunity to pursue the birth experience they desire. She firmly believes in the importance of informed choices and is dedicated to offering evidence-based information to help families make decisions that align with their values and preferences. Krista is committed to birth and racial justice and has spent time volunteering for Chicago Volunteer Doulas. She is also CPR certified.

Krista’s passion for birth work was born from the two varied experiences she had during the births of her own babies. She knows that the support you have during pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum can greatly influence your perception of this transformative season of life. As a queer identifying person, Krista is passionate about supporting queer and transgender families as they navigate birth spaces that aren’t always built to support them. She is committed to ensuring that every family, regardless of their background or identity, receives compassionate and respectful support during childbirth. With Krista, you will experience support that celebrates your unique needs and identity.

Along with birth, Krista is a strong advocate for breast/chest feeding support. Krista has nursed her children and tandem nursed. Whatever your lactation goals are, Krista will provide the support you need to get started. Additionally, Krista has cloth diapered both of her children and is always happy to talk about environmentally friendly ways to navigate the baby years and beyond.
