Meet Leila
Leila (she/her) is a birth and postpartum doula on our team as well as an ovulation cycle specialist. She completed her doula training through Bebo Mia, and is currently training in the FEMM fertility management program. Her experience as a postpartum doula includes helping first and second-time families as they adjust to life with a newborn. She specializes in navigating changing family dynamics, meal prep/house organization, and emotional and physical support for postpartum life. She supports families with both daytime and overnight care and proactively supports in whichever way is needed. Families love her support and describe her as compassionate, and her focus on non-judgmental and evidence-based support is what makes her care exceptional.
Leila has been an educator her entire life, and has a passion for helping people use their own skills and strengths to empower themselves, in birth and in parenthood. Before she transitioned to supporting families, she was a middle school Social Studies and Reading teacher. She loves families, and believes in the power of community to build each other up, hence why her career choices have focused on community and care!
In her free time, Leila loves playing games, reading books, cooking for friends and family, and exploring Chicago!

“We used Chicago family doulas for post partum services for 6 weeks for our first child. A specific shoutout to Shelly and Leila who both worked with us. The experience was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Coordination with the company was seamless, they made organizing services very easy on us, and were exceptionally responsive. As far as actual care, both Shelly and Leila were a delight – they both have a great depth of knowledge, were attentive to our baby’s needs, and were able to give us a lot of advice/tips/feedback. They were both also very flexible and able to tailor their times/services to meet our every need. I can’t thank Shelly/Leila and the company enough – highly recommend.”
