Meet Lina

doula chicago

Lina is a well-loved birth and postpartum doula on our team who trained through DONA and plans to eventually become a midwife. She also completed a training through Stillbirthday to support families during a loss. She is also incredibly experienced supporting families through breastfeeding (she has breastfeed for over ten years and she is a mother of six). She offers a wealth of knowledge to families with newborns.

During Lina’s first pregnancy, she had dreams of a home birth, but at 32 weeks she developed pre-eclampsia, which lead to a very eventful induction. It wasn’t until her third child in 2010 that she found a home birth midwife and delivered with a team of doulas. This is what inspired her to become a doula.

After completing her doula training, she supported many friends and family members through their births. She also volunteered with Chicago Volunteer Doulas. Lina’s calling is in serving people. She enjoys helping new families as they settle in with their newborns. After being a mom to six, she has learned that those first few days and weeks home with a baby can be stressful. Having an experienced helping hand is very comforting.

In her free time she enjoys crochet and volunteering at her local church. She love to watch documentaries and loves anything narrated by David Attenborough. She is also fluent in Spanish.
