Meet Linda
Linda is a CAPPA trained postpartum doula on our team who has spent her life caring for infants and children as a nanny, and in art education. As a postpartum doula, Linda combines compassionate care for the entire household (pets included), as well resources to bridge new families to their community, and give them the comfort to welcome and enjoy their new child. She supports families with singletons, as well as, busier households. Her greatest joy is making the transition into parenthood seamless and as stress-free as possible for each family. She greatly values the building of trust within all homes and settings and approaches every situation with a caring, empathic commitment to babies, children and families.
Linda grew up in Miami, where she began caring for infants as a teen. She was primary infant care giver at the South Miami Hospital Wellness Center, as well as, to several members with newborns in their homes, with whom she had the great joy of watching the children grow in her care over time. Since moving to Chicago in 1994, Linda has enjoyed “wearing many hats”. While working at Kellogg School of Management in Conflict Resolution, she taught children’s art classes (ages 4 through 10) at the Evanston Art Center. While at the Center, she assisted and facilitated the EAC Artreach Program which targeted at risk children in the Evanston public school system. She also taught the Young Masters program for preschool children at Kohl Children’s Museum. In addition, she has also been an assistant to personal chefs in home settings where exceptional interpersonal relationships are key to a successful event, which mostly consisted of large family gatherings.
In Linda’s personal time, she enjoys cooking (all types of cuisine), advocating for animal rescue, art, live music, and road trips with her daughter.
