Meet Lisa F.
Lisa is a CAPPA trained postpartum doula on our team. She supports families with singletons as well as busier households who continue to add to their family. Families describe her as kind, caring, compassionate, funny, organized, and supportive.
Lisa has always cared deeply and found joy in caring for babies, children of all ages and families. Prior to doula work she was a preschool teacher for over 20 years, as well as a nanny for three years.
Lisa has been drawn to pregnancy, birth, babies and families since she was a child. She always knew she would work within the birthing and education community. As a doula, she loves the feeling of entering the home of a family that has just had a baby. Everything is so special, so intense, so meaningful, full of firsts. Whether the experience is welcoming a first child into a home or the experience of welcoming the newest member into an already established family, having the honor of witnessing and becoming part of the support “team” is gift that she is forever grateful for.
Lisa is also a mother with a 12 year old son, and she has a 23 year old step son who she helped raise since he was 5. He was diagnosed with ADHD, reactive attachment disorder, anxiety and depression which she actively supported and advocated for him during his school years.
When Lisa isn’t supporting families, she loves to read, make jewelry, take nature walks and care for pets/animals.
