Meet Lorri

Evanston prentice doula

Lorri is a DONA trained birth doula on our team, as well as a postpartum doula. She loves supporting families through labor, birth, and settling in postpartum. She knows this time is absolutely precious and such a gift, her role is to make the experience as stress free as possible. She is supportive of medicated and unmedicated births, and has experience with higher risk pregnancy. As a postpartum doula, she provides a wealth of information for new families. She jumps in wherever needed, and is experienced with singletons as well as families with busier households. She loves helping families gain confidence as new parents. Families describe Lorri as encouraging, caring, and incredibly supportive.

Prior to doula work, Lorri was a high school teacher for 20 years. She is a married mother of three. While all her births were in a hospital setting, her last one was with a midwife and it was life-changing in terms of experiencing a whole different level of support during birth. She is so grateful to support expecting mothers through their own birth and postpartum experiences. She knows how important it is to not go through this alone!

When Lorri isn’t supporting families, she loves gardening, and beekeeping. She is a part of an interracial family and looks forward to supporting moms of all ages and races.
