Meet Roxana
Roxana is a CAPPA trained postpartum doula on our team. Roxana supports families for daytime and overnight, and families describe her as sweet, calm, caring, patient and reliable. She is always ready to help in all the ways that are needed. She supports mom with baby care, as well as taking care of the household. She is very aware of all the family’s feelings and needs: she is very respectful and a great team player. Roxana understands that every family has different needs and being able to provide active listening makes a big difference in the self-esteem of the mother.
Prior to supporting families as a doula, she supported many women through the years working at a non-for-profit organization creating plans and advocating for women’s rights, and providing information on how they can best take care of their bodies. She is a firm believer that this is a critical and important time.
Roxana understands the impacts she can make in a family’s life and she saw firsthand in her own family and through her friends how much having support helps the mother. She believes that it truly does take a village- and Roxana enjoys being able to be a part of each family’s village to make the journey into parenthood more enjoyable.
When Roxana is not supporting families, she loves being with her family and dedicating time to her elders. She creates beaded earrings and art and attends community events. She is a traditional ceremonial Aztek Dancer and loves sharing dance with other communities when possible.
