Meet Sarah

birth doula chicago

Sarah (she/her) is DONA trained birth doula on our team. She is also a lifelong elementary and early childhood educator. Birth work was a natural progression for her to lean into after supporting families through childhood for so long. She is supportive of hospital births, birthing center births, or home births, and is dedicated to honoring the choices of the birthing person when it comes to medical interventions.

After the birth of her first son, Sarah dove into learning about as many birthing journeys as she could in order to become educated in options, which led her to feeling powerful and in control of her experience with baby number two. Sarah believes that all families deserve to be supported by a doula. She is a passionate ally for BIPOC and the LGBTQIA+ community, and as an educator she has done significant training and work in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) and Gender Spectrum.

Sarah prides herself on her abilities to connect with others in authentic and caring ways. She is an empath who truly finds joy in life experiences. She has an inherent belief that communication is the cornerstone to any solid relationship, and prides herself on her ability to do so effectively and with kindness. She will always be a reliable partner and support.

Sarah is married with two active and busy sons. When she is not working, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her family and two big pups. She is also an artist at heart who studied photography, glassblowing, and ceramics during college, so there isn’t a hobby she won’t try!
