Meet Tamara Joy
Tamara Joy is a DONA trained birth and postpartum doula on our team. She has been supporting families as a doula for the past six years. Families describe her as relatable, easy to talk with, and always supportive of their preferences for birth and postpartum.
She is experienced with hospital births and is very passionate about informed consent and making sure her clients are knowledgeable about possible medical interventions that are offered in the hospital setting.
As a postpartum doula she is proactive, kind, knowledgeable and knows what families need to feel cared for and supported. She is so kind and caring and families love having her in their homes.
Before supporting families as a doula, Tamara Joy was a full-time nanny for 8 years. Caring for families through the newborn and postpartum season is such a joy for her and confirmation that she was made to help and care for mothers and their new babies.
Tamara Joy became a doula after realizing birth is nothing like it’s portrayed to be in movies and on television. She believes our bodies were made for birthing our babies and everyone can benefit from having a doula in their corner helping them feel empowered and encouraged during their labor and birth.
When Tamara Joy isn’t supporting families, she enjoys getting out in nature with her husband and four sons. She has learned so much about childbirth and motherhood through her own personal experiences and loves supporting and encouraging other moms through their own journeys.
