Meet Vallen

Chicago Doula

Vallen is a DONA trained postpartum doula and she has also completed an extensive breastfeeding course through Bastyr University. She spent most of her teen and young adult years as a babysitter and nanny and worked at the Childcare center at Naval Station Everett as an Infant Specialist. The standards were high, and she was trained weekly on new rules and regulations and had to develop care plans for each baby.

As a postpartum doula she enjoys helping families find their footing as new parents as well as families who are adding to their household. She loves caring for busy families and families having their first baby. She is very experienced and loves supporting families with singletons and multiples. Families also love the structure she is able to implement for naps and nighttime. She understands what it takes to run a busy household and jumps right in and helps with all the things. When she leaves your home your house will be tidy and meals will be prepped.

Vallen is very knowledgeable about babies and is very observant. She can reassure a family when things are going well and she can help troubleshoot and connect a family to resources when things are needing more attention. She’s very proactive for her families so they can relax as she knows that being a new parent is exhausting. She makes sure to be non-judgmental and will make sure the parents know that they have all they need to make decisions as parents and she’s there to support THEIR choices.

Vallen tends to develop very strong bonds with her families and loves to check up on them down the road after her support has ended. This work is very personal to her. After developing severe PPD after her 2nd child and her 3rd being stillborn at 40 weeks and 5 days, she understands the worst of what the postpartum period can bring and has an empathy that is so honest and true.

Vallen is also a peer support companion through Star Legacy Foundation for Stillbirth. She has a strong heart for caring for families who have suffered a loss.

When not supporting families Vallen enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 kiddos. She loves to create and work on updating her home, read personal development and baby books, and loves to spend time at the beach and in the forest.

Families describe Vallen as kind, caring, knowledgeable, willing and an incredible support.
