Meet Verity

Chicago Doulas

Verity is a wonderful doula on our team who is trained through DONA as a birth doula and CAPPA as a postpartum doula. She is also trained holistically through HERBAL. She is trained in the Bradley Method, and is also a Breastfeeding Counselor, Perinatal and Infant Care Educator, and a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. She is continuously updating her education in other aspects of doula work by taking workshops, she is also a student midwife.

As a labor doula her goal is that each family she supports gains knowledge, self-esteem, and courage through their experience that results in an empowered experience. Verity is known for offering her families guidance and education and supporting them in their choices. As a postpartum doula, Verity is a newborn expert. She specializes in baby care, helping babies get on a good routine, she is experienced with supporting families with multiples, and supporting families day and night with the best care possible.

Before becoming a doula, Verity took classes in both Psychology and Early Childhood Education, and was a preschool teacher. She has cared for infants and young children as a nanny for over ten years. She has supported families who have special circumstances including preemies and special needs children. She began her path in health care as an EMT in 2013, before moving on to working as Midwife’s Assistant in 2014.

Verity has a wide range of experience in various situations including hospital birth, home birth, VBAC, HBAC, induction, epidurals, unmedicated birth, cesarean. She has supported families with special needs infants, breastfeeding issues, LGBTQ+ families, adoption, teen pregnancy, single parent families, premature birth, Bradley Birth, water birth, and more.

She has four children of her own who were all born at home. In her free time she loves to travel, to spend time outdoors, work on various art and home improvement projects, bake and cook, and spend time with her family.
