When I found out I was pregnant with my son, I knew I wanted to breastfeed.
I hadn’t the slightest idea that it would become a passion of mine. Once he was born, we had our fair share of struggles (engorgement, overproduction, reflux, etc.). The bond that we shared and the immediate comfort he found when nursing was enough to get me through those times.
I decided that I wanted to do something to help other moms in their breastfeeding journey,
so I enrolled in a 90+ hour lactation education program and received my certification as a Breastfeeding Specialist. It was during this time that I realized there were so many great products designed to make breastfeeding a great experience. But, you had to go through many different retailers or go through sales associates that have little to no knowledge about lactation. That is when I had the idea to open Milk Supply – a one-stop-shop for all things breastfeeding. Moms could shop for all of these breastfeeding related products in one place and receive knowledgable assistance when choosing the product that best fits their nursing needs. The store will be carrying:
- nursing bras and apparel
- nursing covers
- lactation supplements
- lactation teas and cookies
- breast pumps and parts
- breast pump bags
- nursing pillows and pillow covers
- nipple creams
- nipple shells and shields
- nursing pads and more
We will also be hosting monthly drop-in clinics with Elizabeth Kelly, MS, RN, IBCLC. And, breastfeeding classes with Lisa Zimmermann, RN, CPN, IBCLC. You can find more details about these classes by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
It is so important for breastfeeding moms to get the support they need in order to feel comfortable in their nursing journey. It isn’t always easy, but with the right support system it can be a wonderful experience for both mom and baby!
