(Did someone say DATE NIGHT)
Summer Dance
We love dancing under the stars! Each Summer the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park blossoms into an urban dance space. The night starts out with dance lessons and then moves into and open dance party. Each night is music from all around the world with plenty of local favorites. Learn how to Samba, Swing, Salsa and so much more. They also have summer dance at some neighborhood parks if you don’t feel like making the trek downtown. Bring a picnic basket and take advantage of this FREE event. Kid Friendly.
Millennium Park Summer Film Series
On Tuesdays, June 5 through August 21, at 6:30pm. Head down to Pritzker Pavilion for movies in the park. Each screening in the series will be programmed in collaboration with a local independent film festival providing a season-long sampling of the themes, ethnicities and genres seen in the more than 50 film festivals presented annually in Chicago. We love cuddling up in our blankets and enjoying the skyline while watching some of our favorite movies. They sell food and drinks or you can bring your own. Check the listings some movies are kid friendly, and some are date night only!
Ravinia
This venue can seem like a magical fairy land when you walk in with sparkling lights and trees everywhere. They have concerts that range from classical to hip-hop. Lawn seats can be as cheap as $20 a ticket for some events. They even have some special kids nights. They have a selection of food and drinks but you are able to bring your own as well! So surprising for such a popular venue. Come early and prepared if you have lawn seats. There are some long time veterans that know the best spots to get and have the best outdoor venue set ups.
