Since 1986, The Webster Technique has been helping families thanks to the founding chiropractor, Dr. Larry Webster. He was an advocate for chiropractic care during pregnancy and for children. His passion helped create a certification program that established and a curriculum for adjusting this specific population.

“The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of subluxation and/or SI joint dysfunction. In so doing neurobiomechanical function in the sacral/pelvic region is improved.”

As chiropractors, we’d love for every patient to all have an easy, boring pregnancy and delivery with the least amount of interventions. Fundamentally, our philosophy is that body can heal itself. Let’s provide the least amount of care to allow for that to happen. If a patient needs an intervention (by choice or unexpected), we help the body’s ability adapt and heal faster.

Empowering Others

Many times, our office gets calls from patients who have had a 36-week ultrasound and report their baby is not in an ideal position. We schedule to see them as soon as possible! We will do our best to align the pelvis and have the intention of creating for more space for the baby. It is often necessary to check our patient’s pelvis every day. We utilize the Webster Technique each visit and help shift the biomechanics for greater balance. Usually terms like “EVC (external cephalic version)” and “C-section” are in the patient’s concerns and conversation during the initial exam.

We’d love to see patients earlier in their pregnancy (and even prior to conception) to support the wellbeing of the mother’s nervous system as well as the baby’s development. Conversations in the preconception and first two trimester phases include choosing vitamins and supplements, finding other providers who are a part of their team, and offsetting symptoms of pregnancy through chiropractic adjustments. We answer questions (why we would check a newborn) and are grateful to be included during this powerful time in life.

Becoming certified in the Webster Technique allows a chiropractor to support pregnant patients with a concise protocol. This protocol begins with the sacrum, checks and releases tightened ligaments and muscles, and ends with a more balanced pelvis. We are all trained in the same technique and will be very happy to help you!
